Welcome to our program!

We are back for our 23rd consecutive year!

Summer Art Bunch was created by myself, Christine Barber, and my fellow teacher and friend, Margie Keenan.

I hold a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education from Bank Street College and a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts from CUNY.  I have been teaching at The Park Children's Day School (formerly Park Avenue Christian Church Day School) for over 25 years (and counting!). I have extensive experience with all age groups and currently teach in the threes program. I am also a mother of three children.

SAB is tailored to children aged 3 through 5 years old. The children study a new artist each week and discover their creativity through a range of visual and performing arts.

In past summers we have studied the portrait art of Frieda Kahlo, the Cubism of Pablo Picasso, the street art of Keith Haring, the abstract art of Mondrian and more!

Your child will have fun working on diverse projects that reflect core themes in art and critical thinking. We encourage the children to be creative, inventive and hands-on with individual and group projects.  


The highpoint of the summer is the Museum Exhibition that we host for parents in July to display the cumulative work of our young artists. It is a delight to see the sense of ownership and tremendous pride the children have for their artwork.
